Carmen Amrein, had been playing the Hackbrett since she was 7 years old. Later onshe began to take lessons in Zither.
She graduated with high honors from Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium and University of Music and Performing Arts, Munich in July 2010 with main instrument Hackbrett, Salterio – Birgit Stolzenburg, Zither – Georg Glasl , Traditional German Music (Volksmusik) - Sepp Hornsteiner and Early Music Education – Eva-Ruth Kahmann.
The artist performs as Soloist and in various Groups like: “Con Fuoco” (Hackbrett Quartet), "Globetrotter" (Hackbrett & Harp) or “Site Gumper” (Hackbrettduo). Carmen not only performs concerts in Germany, she had been to Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Ireland, Great Britain, Canada and the United States, too. Carmen was giving concerts and teaching her instruments within her year abroad in Canada and the United States.
She had her orchestra-premiere in autumn 2008 with Marco Hertenstein's Opera Die verlorenen Gedanken and was invited back to the pit at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich, in October 2009. In 2010 she was invited by University of Music, Nürnberg, to perform Georg Ph. Telemann’s Opera Flavius Bertardius on Salterio.
Beside playing concerts, she’s teaching Hackbrett, Zither, Traditional German Music and Early Music Education and had been invited to miscellaneous Festivals in and outside of Germany for several years now.
Jutta Claar joined her for her first Television apearance in SWR Television (Germany) on 08.01.2010 Show "Kaffee oder Tee?".
She took part at the Competition "Jugend Musiziert" in 2006 in the category Hackbrett-Solist and got countries laureate with excellent results.
